Who We Are
Standard Securities is in the Stock Brokerage Industry, where players buy and sell stocks and other securities for both retail and institutional clients, through a stock exchange or over the counter, in return for a fee or commission.
Specifically, Standard Securities Corporation is a member of the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE), known as being the national stock exchange of the Philippines. The PSE is known as one of the oldest stock exchanges in Southeast Asia, having been in continuous operation since 1927.
The PSE currently maintains two trading floors:
The PSE is composed of a 15-man Board of Directors, currently chaired by Jose Pardo.
The PSE’s main index, the fluctuations of which provide a health check for stocks regulated by the PSE in general, is the PSE Composite Index or PSEi. This index is composed of thirty (30) listed companies, and the selection of included companies is based on a specific set of criteria maintained by the PSE board. Apart from this, there are also six additional sector-based indices that provide a glimpse of how certain sectors are performing based on price fluctuations of intra-sector securities.
Members of the Philippine Stock Exchange, also called trading participants, are individuals or corporations given trading rights. Being a member itself, Standard Securities considers other participants as its primary competitors.
